Like going fast, but not a fan of drop bars? Salsa has equipped their nimble Journeyer with flat bars, giving new gravel riders a familiar cockpit feel, with the same on-road and off-road capability. Salsa’s Journeyer line can pull double or even triple duty, commuting through the week, gravel riding on the weekends, and maybe even a cross event or two. Outfitted with Shimano’s tried and true Deore groupset, you get 10 gears to help power up those hills. With the removal of a front derailleur there’s less maintenance and improved durability, a definite plus on rough trails. When you’re starting to gear up for bikepacking, the Journeyer’s frame has plenty of mounting points for bags and racks. And the plush 38mm tires keep the ride comfortable on paths, trails, and bike lanes that have seen better days.
